Are you passionate about history and eager to dive into an engaging summer role? The Northern Life Museum & Cultural Centre is looking for enthusiastic and reliable summer students to join our dynamic team!
Position: Museum Assistant
Location: Northern Life Museum & Cultural Centre
Dates: Tuesday, May 27th 2025 – Friday, August 29th 2025
Hours: Tuesday – Saturday from 9:30 AM to 6 PM

Key Responsibilities:
- Visitor Engagement: Provide friendly, informative assistance to museum guests, enhancing their experience.
- Exhibit Support: Help set up, maintain, and occasionally take down exhibits with care and attention to detail.
- Physical Tasks: Perform various physical tasks such as light landscaping, maintaining museum grounds, moving equipment, and organizing spaces.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with a passionate team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Ideal Candidates Will:
- Be Enthusiastic: Show a genuine interest in history and cultural preservation.
- Be Reliable: Demonstrate dependability and a strong work ethic.
- Be Physically Capable: Handle physical tasks efficiently and safely, both indoors and outdoors.
- Be a Team Player: Collaborate effectively with staff and contribute to a positive work environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer service or similar roles is a plus.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends.
- Physical stamina to manage various tasks comfortably.
- Must be between 16 – 30 years of age, and have been in school full-time the previous school year and returning to school in the fall.
- Able to operate a riding mower, whipper snipper and other gardening equipment.
