This weekend workshop will teach participants some basics about two different types of pottery firing techniques. Participants will learn both Raku and
Horsehair reduction firing. Individuals attending this course will be able to fire their own pots to take home with them after the completion of the workshop.

Artist Biography – Astrid Kruse

Astrid observes her environment and pushes that experience into clay. The vessels she makes are about process and form. These forms are impacted
by the elements as the season’s change. Nature’s process is to move the water that carves the rock, and the wind that sculpts the snow. The
patterns, chaos and motion of nature are her inspiration. This is expressed through the textures, colour and energy that she uses in her clay work.
