7:00PM at the NLMCC
Ib Kristensen emigrated from Denmark to Canada in 1957 and has been living in Fort Smith for almost 45 years. He served as president of the
chamber of commerce, helped create the Muffaloose mascot, and served for a term on the town council. He and his late wife, Lillian, owned and ran
the North of 60 town book store for decades.
Ib Kristensen will be telling stories about the early years of the Fort Fitz-Smith Thebacha Ski Loppet, his epic 11 day skiing trek from Fort Smith to
Fort McMurray 40 years ago, and the story behind the Muffaloose!
Light refreshments will be served.
