Explore and enjoy the great outdoors while learning about color theory, mark making with paint, articulating space while using color and choosing your composition when outdoors. Participants in this workshop will paint alongside Yellowknife artist, Jessica McVicker to create their own 8X10 canvas painting inspired by the outdoors. This 4-hour class is excellent for anyone with a hectic summer schedule who would like to take a workshop in a shortened time period, all while soaking up some sunshine.

Artist Biography ~
Jessica McVicker Jessica A. McVicker has a bachelor in illustration from Alberta College of Art Design (ACAD). For the past 6 years, she has lived in and admired the Northwest Territories.

When she is not painting landscapes she is illustrating. She has painted with acrylics for 10 years and dedicated herself to art for the majority of her life. Jessica is also experienced in watercolor, stone sculpture, inks, drawing, block printing and graphic novel type work.

Jessica has shown her work in various art galleries and venues such as Down to Earth Gallery, ARCC (Artist Run Community Centre), The Great Northern Arts Festival, Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre, and many other places.
