Visages au Féminin Exhibit

Thursday, January 19 – 7:00-9:00PM  Take a glimpse into the world and culture of Francophone and Francophile women from around Canada. This multimedia exhibit features over 30 photographs and 4 videos depicting female Francophone and Francophile immigrants of Acadian, French, Métis and African origin. Please join us for an evening of cheese and a complementary glass of wine as we celebrate Francophone and Francophile women from across Canada.

An Evening with Ib Kristensen

Thursday, February 26, 2015 7:00PM at the NLMCC Ib Kristensen emigrated from Denmark to Canada in 1957 and has been living in Fort Smith for almost 45 years.  He served as president of the chamber of commerce, helped create the Muffaloose mascot, and served for a term on the town council.  He and his late wife, Lillian, owned and ran the North of 60 town book store for decades. Pi Kennedy Exhibit

  The Pi Kennedy Exhibit explores the life of a Metis trapper, Alexander Philip John Kennedy (Pi). Born in Fort Smith in 1926, Pi has trapped in the bush since early childhood, and continued this tradition well into his 80s. Pi’s unique humour comes through as he shares memories and stories of a lifetime of trapping through a series of photographs. Tea and bannock will be served.
