Students on day two will be shown how to use felting needles to create designs and images within the sheet of felt that they had previously created. Students will play with the effects of layering, texture and color to create a wool wall hanging for their home.

Artist Biography ~ Alison McCreesh

Alison McCreesh is a fibre artist, cartoonist, and illustrator who lives with her partner and infant son in a cozy little shack in the city of Yellowknife. Very much influenced her surroundings, the artist’s work generally reflects the quirks, humour, and particularities of living north of the 60th parallel. Alison’s illustration work has been featured in several magazines, children’s books and educational materials and her fibre work have been exhibited in non-commercial galleries throughout Canada. Her debut full-length graphic novel titled ‘Ramshackle, A Yellowknife Story’ was launched in November 2015 and explores the reality of living off the grid in what is otherwise a modern government town.
